Module 5 - End of Use Strategies - Abstract

This module addresses strategies and challenges associated with reducing the environmental impact of a product after it has been used by a consumer or business.  Discussion will focus on remanufacturing, recycling and disposal options.  Students will evaluate the end-of-use strategy for a product and propose a redesign alternative for a sustainable cradle-to-cradle design.   Evaluation of the redesigned product will include both environmental impacts as well as cost ramifications for the redesigned product.
