GEO - Paper Recycling Program

Easily one of the most noticed projects on campus, the paper-recycling program has been running since 2006. This project began as a completely student-run effort – all of the collection bins were maintained and emptied by current students on campus, and each semester a large portion of the club funding went toward growing this program. There are over 10 locations on campus that collect paper that would otherwise be thrown away. The program has since evolved into being supported by the Kettering community with help from many individuals across the campus.

Based on the volume of paper collected over the 2006-2007 school year, GEO has saved…

  • 72 Trees
  • 28,000 Gallons of Water
  • 240 Pounds of Air Pollution
  • 16,400 Kilowatt-hours of Energy
  • 12 Cubic Yards of Landfill Space
