Green Chemistry
The exploratory Green Chemistry Module emphasizes the life-cycle of biodiesel versus the petroleum based diesel fuel focusing on the 12 principles of Green Chemistry. In this module students will be introduced to the concept, principles and use of Green Chemistry including a real-world application. Students will synthesize biodiesel from oils available in the biochemistry laboratory and actually use their biodiesel to run a jet engine.
Additional Material Available: KIET can provide interested parties with: 1) A complete instructions for lab 2) Complete set of lecture notes and power point slides.
